The seed grant program is designed to support the convening of people and the cross-pollinating of ideas across sectors (academia, industry, and government) and communities. Activities could include, but are not limited to fostering collaboration, sharing best practices, supporting the cross-pollination of ideas or creating access to products or services.
The Steering Committee provides extensive guidance to develop the Seed Grant program. The Seed Grant is a three-tiered program that provides travel reimbursements for activities to foster collaboration, data science education, sharing of infrastructures and/or advancing priority area objectives and for mid-scale and large awards designed to broaden participation in the Hub priority areas. Small seed grants opened in March, while the mid- and large-scale grants opened in May.
